In November I dislocated my shoulder and tore my rotator cuff. It was a complete tear and required surgery. Physical therapy was brutal and I would wake up several times a night from pain despite what I did. I went into see Monica and I didn’t know what to expect. As she placed needles on both sides of my body she explained the flow of energy. Then she hooked the injured side to electrical stimulation. It was the most amazing thing: the first night I slept without waking up to take pain medication, and after the third visit I no longer needed anything stronger than Tylenol or Ibuprofen. I am forever grateful to Monica for knowing just what I needed.

I  initially sought treatment from another acupuncturist. After several months of seeing little to no results, I made an appointment with Monica. A co-worker of mine had been seeing Monica for several months and insisted I give her a try. After my first treatment, many of the symptoms associated with the chronic illness I have been coping with since 1988, had subsided. The results continue to date and I have every intention on continuing treatment with Monica. She is a very wise professional that is really a pleasure to work with. I suffered a rotator cuff impingement, and physical therapy wasn't helping -- in fact, it seemed to make it worse. I decided to try acupuncture, and the results were really surprising. After 3 treatments, I recovered movement in my shoulder, and the pain greatly decreased. Six treatments later, my shoulder feels fantastic, and it functions normally again. It's been a great way to heal and recover.

I came to Monica after suffering two very early miscarriages.  My OB provided no answers or help, so I turned to Monica and found exactly what I needed.  From the first visit, I knew I had found to right person to help me get and STAY pregnant.  She was professional, extremely knowledgeable and very reassuring.  I got pregnant again quickly and as soon as I found out I e-mailed her (on a Sunday) and she replied right away encouraging me to come in for a treatment so that we could maintain the pregnancy.  The treatments helped relieve my anxiety, lessened my morning sickness and, most importantly, kept me pregnant.  I visited Monica again when I was 41 weeks pregnant with no sign of labor on the horizon.  She treated me on Monday, again on Wednesday and I went into labor on Thursday.  I’m currently 5 months post partum and will be visiting Monica again as I’m having difficulty recovering from the 3rd degree perineal tear I experienced during delivery.  I am confident that treatment will aid in my healing and recovery.        

I found acupuncture to be very relaxing; I would often doze.  I appreciated Monica’s straightforward approach.  She recommended what was needed, no more or less.  She is readily available by e-mail and honest about whether or not acupuncture can help with whatever issue you’re facing.  I have referred several friends to Monica and will continue to do so in the future.  

I came to Seattle Acupuncture seeking help with high cholesterol and to avoid the common practice by traditional medicine of treating the problem by prescribing statin drugs. Since seeing Monica over the past year for acupuncture and Chinese herbal supplements, I am pleased to report that my cholesterol is now down over 20 points overall and the particle numbers (a more significant indicator as determined by an NMR test) have also come down 200 points. These are very positive result! Also, new research shows many negative outcomes for post-menepausal women who take statins, which confirms my reluctance to treat the problem with traditional medicine. I am optimistic that continued treatments with Monica will bring even greater positive results.

I went to Monica upon the recommendation of a member of my womens' choir. She and I had both struggled with sinus and bronchial conditions which often kept us from participation in our group. Monica's acupuncture treatments and Chinese herbs have aided me immensely in thwarting the upper respiratory infections which have plagued me my entire life. I now may rely upon being able to sing in my choir performances regularly.

I went to Monica when we first started trying to conceive. Her treatments were very calming, relaxing, and always made me feel better. Once I became pregnant, I continued to get acupuncture treatments throughout my first trimester to help ease the nausea and promote the positive energy I needed to make it through that fragile time period. My husband and I were trying for over a year to get pregnant without success. I was seeing an acupuncturist at the time but nothing was happening. We both starting seeing Monica and within 3 months, I was pregnant! Now we eagerly await the birth of our first child.
