Acupuncture for Trigger toe/turf toe

In my opinion Monica is the absolute best acupuncturist out there. I have seen her for a number of different reasons over the years and she has helped me a great deal.

For example... I had years of infertility, saw other acupuncturists and even had a failed IVF. After seeing Monica for just 3 months, my menstrual cycle completely changed, I felt better, had more energy and GOT PREGNANT after having a frozen embryo transferred!! I have referred many friends to her for fertility issues and they have all had success. She is not only great at what she does, but she is so dedicated to her patients. A few months into my pregnancy, I began to bleed heavily and e-mailed her on Christmas day to let her know what happened. She immediately called me back, left her family dinner (on CHRISTMAS!!!) to meet me at her office for a treatment. And thanks to her, I had a healthy little boy. Seriously I can't recommend her enough. 

I have always had irregular periods and was concerned about the possibility of ever getting pregnant when the time came in my life that I wanted to start a family. I asked each new doctor I saw throughout my late teens and 20's and they all shrugged off my concern, didn't give a good answer, and didn't seem to care. This was very upsetting! So when my husband and I decided it was time to try getting pregnant, I knew that Western medicine was going to be the last resort. My husband had previously seen Monica for back pain and I had heard that acupuncture is good for infertility, so we decided to give it a try and I made an appointment to see her. Monica was so caring and took the time to explain what she was doing since this was all so new to me. I really looked forward to my appointments and enjoyed the time to relax. She suggested two kinds of Chinese herbs that I took at different times during my cycles. I was already charting my temperatures and could see a noticable difference after starting the herbs! After 3 months of acupuncture treatments and herbs, my cycles became regular. Four months later, I'm pregnant!!

I came to Monica for help with extremely irregular cycles and ovulation. I was trying to get pregnant, but was having difficulty; I didn't ovulate until day 45-55 of every cycle, and had been unable to conceive. The first month of acupuncture with Monica, I ovulated on day 19 instead, and successfully got pregnant that month. We now have a healthy, active toddler as a result! Monica has a warm, caring demeanor combined with expertise on fertility issues, and I would recommend her to anyone struggling with infertility.

What years of traditional medicine and hormone replacement therapy couldn't help (hot flashes & night sweats), Monica and acupuncture improved literally overnight. My life-long insomnia and sleep problem has been eliminated in only a couple of months. I have an improved quality of life both physically, and emotionally. Monica is a physician and a therapist rolled into one.

I recently had a ganglion cyst near my wrist and went to see Monica for treatment. As a percussionist, I count on the health of my hands, wrists, and arms to be able to play so it was really important to me. Monica was very professional and reassured me that acupuncture could help me. Two treatments later, the cyst was gone and has not returned! I would recommend Monica without hesitation and have continued to see her for general health and wellness.

My good friend recommended Monica to treat my increased PMS symptoms-- extreme irritability, emotional swings, etc. Since my physician frustratingly advised more hormones to treat my hormonal fluctuations, I decided to meet with Monica to learn more about acupuncture. At my first appointment, Monica patiently and kindly listened to all of my questions and hesitations, including the often-asked: Will it hurt? It didn’t -- and I’ve continued to seek treatment from Monica for months now, with a personalized schedule based on my cycles. My PMS mood swings have stabilized and have greatly reduced, barely registering each month since I’ve begun treatment. Additionally, Monica has been treating my torn ACL as well, and I’m now able to run and participate in activities that were unthinkable prior to my acupuncture treatments. Each time I see Monica, she makes me feel like I am her most important client I and can’t recommend her thoughtful and personalized approach more.

I had a spine fusion surgery in January 2012. The operation was satisfactory in terms of off-setting stenosis, but not so much for alleviating back and hip pain, unfortunately.  I cannot stand still for more than one hour without experiencing back pain. I finally sought help from Monica last fall… I am so glad I did! The intensity of the pain has decreased tremendously for as long as I see Monica every two-to- three weeks. When the interval gets longer, I start noticing the pain more frequently and intensely. One thing people have to keep in mind, though, is that acupuncture is not a magic or a quick fix to whatever the symptoms you have.  It takes time for your body to undergo biological changes. But once it starts happening, you do feel as if it is magic!

So…why Monica?  I say because she is focused on treatment. You’d say, “Isn’t that what all therapists do?” No. I mean, she really cares about YOU. She is also very confident with her skills and most importantly, she cares about what she does. I also believe that you need to create a positive relationship with your therapist for the treatment to work.  That’s why I encourage you to talk to Monica and find out for yourself. Happy healing!

I've suffered from migraine headaches for 30 years and have tried all sorts of medications that have been only partially effective. However, with acupuncture I have had very effective (sometimes within minutes) relief from migraine pain. I don't fully understand how it works, but for relief of pain I highly recommend it.

I was getting at least one migraine every week when I first went to Monica Legatt for treatment. Her acupuncture sessions, herbal combinations and dietary advice have played a major role in reducing headache incidents to an average of one a month. Though I have since learned to avoid certain migraine triggers, and have added a B2 supplement to my anti-migraine regimen, I credit my work with Monica for the largest part of my improvement as it was under her care that I first saw a reduction in headache frequency.

Monica is thorough, knowledgeable and well-organized in her approach to healing. She's a great listener, too, and in my experience that's an all-important quality in a health care practitioner. Her attitude is one of respect, and her professional goal is very obviously to reinforce my body's efforts to heal and balance itself. I recommend her to all my friends.
