Acupuncture for Trigger toe/turf toe

(osteoarthritis of 1 Sprains of the first metatarsophalangeal joint or “big toe” are often referred to as turf toe.)

Turf toe is caused by increased flexion or extension of the great toe causing stretching or tearing of the ligaments.  The symptoms of turf toe are pain, swelling and sometimes instability of the big toe.  Acupuncture to the two meridians that travel to the big toe (the liver and spleen meridians) can help reduce pain and inflammation in the toe and also restore it to normal range of motion and flexibility.
