Acupuncture for Stiff neck: Levator Scapulae Rigidity/Syndrome

Tension in the trapezius and levator scapula muscles can cause stiffness, pain and reduced range of motion in the neck: especially turning the head side to side.  Causes include everyday wear and tear, overuse, or injury. Neck problems and injuries most commonly occur during sports or recreational activities, work-related tasks, or projects around the home.

Acupuncture can reduce stiff neck by increasing the blood flow to the levator scapula and trapezius muscles, thereby decreasing tension and pain and increasing the range of motion in the neck.
