Acupuncture for Frozen Shoulder/Adhesive Capsulitis

Frozen shoulder is inflammation between the joint capsule and the peripheral articular shoulder cartilage that causes shoulder pain and stiffness whether the patient is being active or at rest. It is very painful and results in a severe loss of range of motion in the shoulder.  It can develop gradually or be the result of an injury.

Acupuncture helps alleviate frozen shoulder symptoms by increasing the flow of blood and energy to the shoulder muscles of supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor and subscapularis.  The shoulder will regain its normal range of motion and the pain will subside with a course of acupuncture treatments.  Usually a minimum of 6 visits is needed to properly address this stubborn condition.
