Research on Fertility & TCM

In November I dislocated my shoulder and tore my rotator cuff. It was a complete tear and required surgery. Physical therapy was brutal and I would wake up several times a night from pain despite what I did. I went into see Monica and I didn’t know what to expect. As she placed needles on both sides of my body she explained the flow of energy. Then she hooked the injured side to electrical stimulation. It was the most amazing thing: the first night I slept without waking up to take pain medication, and after the third visit I no longer needed anything stronger than Tylenol or Ibuprofen. I am forever grateful to Monica for knowing just what I needed.

I came to Monica complaining of extreme fatigue that had been ongoing for a long time and had been getting worse over time. No only is she obviously knowledgeable about acupuncture, but she knows and can explain to you in lay terms how your body works in relation to Chinese medical techniques and practices. Over the 12 weeks I was in her care, I saw steady improvement in my energy level to the point where I felt fully functional by the time we terminated treatment. I started seeing Monica after working with two other acupuncturists for infertility over the course of nine months without any success. She came highly recommended and I was impressed right away with how she explained her philosophy on treating infertility with acupuncture. Last winter I totally obliterated my knee in a skiing accident. With a torn ACL and badly stretched medial collateral ligament, I couldn't put weight on it. I didn't have proper medical insurance to make surgery an option and I wanted to try a less invasive method to my healing. A friend suggested that I call Monica for an acupuncture treatment. After the first visit I could tell it had helped. After three visits I felt an enormous improvement in the pain relief and mobility. I recommend it!

My experience with Monica @ Downtown Seattle Acupuncture clinic has been truly a great experience!  I went to see Monica for fertility issues, as I had heard fertility acupuncture could possibly help in this arena. Not going to lie, I don't like needles and was skeptical at first, but Monica made the process easy & enjoyable, and it's a very relaxing and calming way to spend 30 minutes:-). I saw results in a matter of a couple months, and now, it has been about 1 year and I believe that the combination of my fertility acupuncture treatment with Monica, along with my fertility medicine I was taking, allowed us to conceive and am happy to report that I am currently 20 weeks along in pregnancy and couldn't be happier.  Because I believe acupuncture can truly help in SO many ways, I continue to see Monica to help with stress relief, headaches and muscle pains throughout my pregnancy.  She is very knowledgeable with the science behind Chinese medicine and in my case, fertility, along with what herbs to take to regulate my body and the various foods that improve the process as well.  She not only was a great acupuncturist, but also is very personable and down to earth and I enjoy visiting and receiving treatment each month.  I would highly recommend Monica and her practice!

I came to Monica after 6 months of lower leg pain that nobody could figure out what was going on. After knee surgery on my torn meniscus the pain increased to where I couldn’t drive for more than 5 miles. I then was re-diagnosed and found out that I had a pinched nerve in between my hamstrings and after only three treatments with Monica the pain has gone away and I can now drive again.
