Research on Fertility & TCM

Three years ago my husband and I decided to try and have a baby. I had never been pregnant before and I was very close to turning 30 so I had no idea how long it might take. I was already seeing Monica for other issues so I figured I might as well boost up my fertility while I was at it. Three months later I came home with the news that we were going to have a little baby of our own. Everything went really smoothly throughout my pregnancy until the very end.

Ten days before my due date I found out that my baby was Frank Breech. I was panicked, this was a total shock to us. I called Monica as soon as I left the doctor's office which at the time was very close to closing on a Friday night. Monica explained that because of how far along I was that the chances of turning the baby in time were low but she still saw me and she even did it on her own time. She went way beyond the call of duty to help me out. Unfortunately I went into labor the next day before we could get the baby moved. I had to have a c-section after all but I will never forget what she did for me and how caring she was. She did a great job and now I have a wonderful healthy three year old daughter.

Downtown Seattle Acupuncture is such a wonderful, calming place to visit. I most highly recommend Monica Legatt. She is incredibly skilled, knowledgeable and informative. I was initially treated by her for a severe case of psoriasis. After a few treatments and herbal supplements, my skin quickly and quite beautifully cleared up!!! What a relief! The benefits of Monica's treatments extend much further than one issue, however (in my case it was my skin), acupuncture treatments have helped calm my nerves, have aided in more restful sleep at night, and just overall I feel better. I've seen various acupuncture professionals over the years (it can help with literally any health issue you might have!) and I find Monica to be quite stellar in her comprehensive, subtle and calming approach.

In my opinion Monica is the absolute best acupuncturist out there. I have seen her for a number of different reasons over the years and she has helped me a great deal.

For example... I had years of infertility, saw other acupuncturists and even had a failed IVF. After seeing Monica for just 3 months, my menstrual cycle completely changed, I felt better, had more energy and GOT PREGNANT after having a frozen embryo transferred!! I have referred many friends to her for fertility issues and they have all had success. She is not only great at what she does, but she is so dedicated to her patients. A few months into my pregnancy, I began to bleed heavily and e-mailed her on Christmas day to let her know what happened. She immediately called me back, left her family dinner (on CHRISTMAS!!!) to meet me at her office for a treatment. And thanks to her, I had a healthy little boy. Seriously I can't recommend her enough. 

After having intense heel pain from running and hiking for about six months I started receiving acupuncture treatments. I've been an avid runner for 20 years (3-4 runs per week) and found myself unable to run more than once or twice a week due to deep heel pain. I tried acupuncture after reading an article in a national magazine and having several friends tell of successful acupuncture treatments. I found that acupuncture combined with massage greatly eased my pain and has allowed me to start increasing the frequency and length of my runs. I would strongly suggest acupuncture as one way of healing/easing heel or general foot pain.

I  initially sought treatment from another acupuncturist. After several months of seeing little to no results, I made an appointment with Monica. A co-worker of mine had been seeing Monica for several months and insisted I give her a try. After my first treatment, many of the symptoms associated with the chronic illness I have been coping with since 1988, had subsided. The results continue to date and I have every intention on continuing treatment with Monica. She is a very wise professional that is really a pleasure to work with. I owe my co-worker and Monica a HUGE 'thank you'.

I had been seeing an acupuncturist for depression, low energy and digestion issues. I was unable to schedule with my regular provider so I made an appointment with Monica. It was life changing. She really took the time to listen to me and about my life. Monica explained, in detail, the theory behind acupuncture and Chinese medicine and how it could be useful specifically for me. The anticipatory guidance she gives before inserting each needle gave me a relaxed and in control feeling. Although I had been getting weekly treatments for 6 months I had never had someone get the QI! This was amazing and took my acupuncture experience to a new level. Soon, thereafter, I had intense stomach pain that I believe to have been associated with my gallstones. I left work to head home but was unable to make it to the bus. I called Monica’s office and although it was the end of the day they told me to come right in. Once there Monica gave me her full attention and began to do an intense treatment. Within twenty minutes I was feeling better. After the treatment was over she had me just relax until my husband was able to drive in to pick me up. My original appointment with Monica was meant to be a stand-in but I have yet to return to the previous provider and consider myself a loyal patient.

If you have not tried acupuncture then you are truly missing out on better health. I was asked by my doctor if I would like to try acupuncture. They could not help the pain I was having and I could hardly walk. I had to really think about it for a while because I thought needles weren't for me, but I was in so much pain that I decided to try acupuncture at least one time.

After the first visit I was so impressed: would you believe that I can even go to sleep while having the treatment? I feel so much better after an acupuncture treatment that I have continued going because Monica has also worked on other parts of my body (arms, shoulders, hips) for better health. (Note: this patient has received bi-weekly acupuncture treatments since 2002.)

Monica and her office staff are so nice that it is a pleasure to go. Monica is so gentle and kind and really listens to you. She has even called me at home to check up on me when I have been ill. I have never had that kindness from a doctor before. I could go on more but I will end in saying that everyone should try acupuncture at least once!

Hi Monica and Sara (Sara is our Office Manager), The baby was born a few hours ago, so I need to cancel this next appointment. He's a big boy (9lbs, 7oz) so we're awfully glad he arrived a few days early! I'm sure Monica's acupuncture treatments had a lot to do with that! Thanks for everything!

After experiencing post uterine ablation syndrome for several months, I sought out acupuncture treatment in hopes of relieving the painful episodes that were occurring on a monthly basis. I have been receiving regular acupuncture for six months now and I am experiencing significant decreased pain. Given the promising results, I plan to continue acupuncture in hopes of reducing my pain further!.
