Monica-You've done it again! My back is 100% after yesterday’s acupuncture! Thank you!

In November I dislocated my shoulder and tore my rotator cuff. It was a complete tear and required surgery. Physical therapy was brutal and I would wake up several times a night from pain despite what I did. I went into see Monica and I didn’t know what to expect. As she placed needles on both sides of my body she explained the flow of energy. Then she hooked the injured side to electrical stimulation. It was the most amazing thing: the first night I slept without waking up to take pain medication, and after the third visit I no longer needed anything stronger than Tylenol or Ibuprofen. I am forever grateful to Monica for knowing just what I needed.

I was initially treated by her for a severe case of psoriasis. After a few treatments and herbal supplements, my skin quickly and quite beautifully cleared up!!! What a relief! The benefits of Monica's treatments extend much further than one issue, however (in my case it was my skin), acupuncture treatments have helped calm my nerves, have aided in more restful sleep at night, and just overall I feel better. On October 18th, 2010, Monica Legatt changed my life forever.

Having had multiple conversations with fertility specialists between April and September of that year who told us that my FSH levels were too high to get pregnant and that the only chance we had at a family was egg donorship or adoption, I had almost given up hope. But after speaking to a friend who had success using acupuncture to address fertility issues, I decided to give it a chance.

I first visited Monica in her office on October 18th and shared my story with her. She asked tons of questions and told me in no uncertain terms that I should not give up. I laid down on the table that day only half believing that anything she would be doing would help my chances of getting pregnant - and I was convinced that even 50% was high odds.

On October 26th, I received a call from my doctor. She told me that me that my husband and I were expecting a "miracle baby." After being given less than a 1% chance of getting pregnant on our own, we had somehow overcome the inconceivable. We had managed - with the help of acupuncture- to create a little life.

Today, we have a 12-week-old little girl who we are absolutely in love with. We tell her every day how lucky we are to have her in our lives...and every day, I think about how lucky I was to meet Monica, who helped us to bring our little miracle into the world.

I had a spine fusion surgery in January 2012. The operation was satisfactory in terms of off-setting stenosis, but not so much for alleviating back and hip pain, unfortunately.  I cannot stand still for more than one hour without experiencing back pain. I finally sought help from Monica last fall… I am so glad I did! The intensity of the pain has decreased tremendously for as long as I see Monica every two-to- three weeks. When the interval gets longer, I start noticing the pain more frequently and intensely. One thing people have to keep in mind, though, is that acupuncture is not a magic or a quick fix to whatever the symptoms you have.  It takes time for your body to undergo biological changes. But once it starts happening, you do feel as if it is magic!

So…why Monica?  I say because she is focused on treatment. You’d say, “Isn’t that what all therapists do?” No. I mean, she really cares about YOU. She is also very confident with her skills and most importantly, she cares about what she does. I love Monica, she is a super pro and i have seen her work her magic on not only me, but several of my friends as well.

I have migraines all of my life, and over a period of about 2 months, she was able to reduce and keep the frequency from 2x per week, to once every every 2 months or so. She just recently healed a shoulder issue in one session that i have been taking prednisone for.

I came to Seattle Acupuncture seeking help with high cholesterol and to avoid the common practice by traditional medicine of treating the problem by prescribing statin drugs. Since seeing Monica over the past year for acupuncture and Chinese herbal supplements, I am pleased to report that my cholesterol is now down over 20 points overall and the particle numbers (a more significant indicator as determined by an NMR test) have also come down 200 points. These are very positive result! Also, new research shows many negative outcomes for post-menepausal women who take statins, which confirms my reluctance to treat the problem with traditional medicine. I am optimistic that continued treatments with Monica will bring even greater positive results.

Monica saved me!! I really mean it! I broke out in hives all over my body--literally from head to toe. I've never had hives before, so I assumed they would just go away after a few days. Well, after 10 days of unbearable itching (even while taking benedryl), I went to the Doctor. He didn't have any remedy and said to wait 2 more weeks to see if they'd go away. I thought I would go crazy from the itching! That's when I called Monica.

She got me in the next day and did a treatment for the hives. In LESS THAN 24 hours the itching/redness decreased by 80%! Seriously! It was a miracle. She also had me take some herbs, which helped a ton. 3 days after the initial treatment the hives were gone!! I had a few follow-up treatments and continued with the herbs as directed. NO MORE HIVES! I've always had positive experiences with Acupuncture; this experience was the most profound. Monica is excellent at what she does. She is very thorough and explains the treatment in simple terms. Monica listens and answers all questions. She is compassionate and has a high level of integrity! I felt comfortable right away. The office atmosphere is peaceful, friendly and professional. I came to Monica for help with extremely irregular cycles and ovulation. I was trying to get pregnant, but was having difficulty; I didn't ovulate until day 45-55 of every cycle, and had been unable to conceive. The first month of acupuncture with Monica, I ovulated on day 19 instead, and successfully got pregnant that month. We now have a healthy, active toddler as a result! Monica has a warm, caring demeanor combined with expertise on fertility issues, and I would recommend her to anyone struggling with infertility.
