When I began acupuncture for fertility my cycles were short because I was ovulating quite early since ceasing birth control. After the first treatment my cycle was a full 5 days longer before I ovulated which would have made my cycle a normal 28-day length were it not for getting pregnant that same cycle. Additionally, the acupuncture treatment for my thyroid was made in conjunction with starting a synthroid medication, which is now regulated. I'm sure all of these things helped to support a very quick pregnancy.

In November I dislocated my shoulder and tore my rotator cuff. It was a complete tear and required surgery. Physical therapy was brutal and I would wake up several times a night from pain despite what I did. I went into see Monica and I didn’t know what to expect. As she placed needles on both sides of my body she explained the flow of energy. Then she hooked the injured side to electrical stimulation. It was the most amazing thing: the first night I slept without waking up to take pain medication, and after the third visit I no longer needed anything stronger than Tylenol or Ibuprofen. I am forever grateful to Monica for knowing just what I needed.

My husband and I were trying for over a year to get pregnant without success. I was seeing an acupuncturist at the time but nothing was happening. We both starting seeing Monica and within 3 months, I was pregnant! Now we eagerly await the birth of our first child.

At my first appointment, Monica patiently and kindly listened to all of my questions and hesitations, including the often-asked: Will it hurt? It didn’t -- and I’ve continued to seek treatment from Monica for months now, with a personalized schedule based on my cycles. My PMS mood swings have stabilized and have greatly reduced, barely registering each month since I’ve begun treatment. Additionally, Monica has been treating my torn ACL as well, and I’m now able to run and participate in activities that were unthinkable prior to my acupuncture treatments. After suffering for about a year from eczema around my mouth and painful cracking of the lips, I decided to forgo the traditional prescriptions of cortisone creams. The final straw was when a dermatologist told me to use across-the-counter anti-fungal cream. Monica immediately diagnosed the problem as a hormonal problem and prescribed acupuncture and naturopathic pills. Never have any of the doctors that I saw for my problem raised anything about hormones! Within a couple of weeks, my eczema and cracked lips were normal. Now I go to see Monica for all my ailments - stomach problems, stress, eczema problems on other parts of my body and shoulder and neck problems. Monica saved me!! I really mean it! I broke out in hives all over my body--literally from head to toe. I've never had hives before, so I assumed they would just go away after a few days. Well, after 10 days of unbearable itching (even while taking benedryl), I went to the Doctor. He didn't have any remedy and said to wait 2 more weeks to see if they'd go away. I thought I would go crazy from the itching! That's when I called Monica.

She got me in the next day and did a treatment for the hives. In LESS THAN 24 hours the itching/redness decreased by 80%! Seriously! It was a miracle. She also had me take some herbs, which helped a ton. 3 days after the initial treatment the hives were gone!! I had a few follow-up treatments and continued with the herbs as directed. NO MORE HIVES! I've always had positive experiences with Acupuncture; this experience was the most profound. Monica is excellent at what she does. She is very thorough and explains the treatment in simple terms.
